The newly- appointed Press Secretary in the Office of the President, Solomon Jamiru, has visited Politico newspaper as part of his meeting –the- media initiative, following his recent appointment.
Accompanied by State House Communications Manager Tanu Jalloh, he told the Politico staff on Thursday 27th July 2023 that his office exists because of the media and that the communications unit thought it necessary to visit media houses to demonstrate that they and journalists are in the business together.
Jamiru said the visitations to media houses was to also solicit necessary suggestions that would help assist them to stand firm, build cordial relations and create visibility of the presidency.
According to the Press Secretary, the visit to Politico was knowledge-rewarding, considering the invaluable support they got from the Management of the newspaper.
He said he values the work of journalists and thanked the staff of Politico for the work they do, sometimes in the face of real challenges.
“I know that you will support my team, and I am sure we will interact more,” Jamiru said.
Before his appointment to the new office, Jamiru was Deputy Minister of Information and Communications.
