Magistrate Mark Ngegba has remanded a 41-year-old John Bangura, 28-year-old Samuel Koroma, a 30-year-old Hassan Kamara being first, second and third accused persons respectively for allegedly stealing from Justice Alfred Tommy Ganda items with a total value of seventy-four thousand seven hundred New Leones, (NLe. 74,700).
The prosecution alleges that the robbery with aggravation offence occurred on 19th May this year at Kabba Drive Masimbo, Regent in rural area of Freetown with the accused using a shotgun and machetes.
On Monday 3rd July 2023, the Pademba Road Magistrate Court No.1 heard that 27-year -old Abubakarr Sidique alias Baba and 35-year-old Yusif Kanu being the fourth and fifth accused persons received some of the stolen goods.
In a separate case, the first, second and third accused persons and one 26-year-old Alie Sesay were also alleged to have robbed Julian Awoonor Renner at 7A Signal Hill Road in Freetown on Tuesday 16th May 2023.
The total value of goods allegedly robbed from Ms. Renner was said to be two hundred and eight thousand, two hundred and sixty New Leones (NLe 208,260).
The court was told that the accused were also armed with a shotgun and machetes while executing their robbery operation and carting away items including one Sony A7M3 Camera, one Iphone 14 Pro-max and one Iphone X, and one Nixon smart wristwatch.
Kanu, Sidique and a 32-year-old Mohamed Suma alias Soso were also alleged to have received all the stolen goods on Tuesday 16th May this year at King Jimmy, Wallace Johnson Street in Freetown.
In another separate case, the first, second, third and fourth accused persons were alleged to have used a shotgun and machetes as they robbed one Ndeye Njie on 7th May 2023. They allegedly stole items including one Salvatore wristwatch, one silver-necklace with diamond locket and one Gold chain with a total value of two hundred and eighteen thousand new Leones (NLe 218,000) at 23 Lightfoot Boston Street in Freetown.
Suma is alleged to have received the stolen goods on the 7th May this year at the same King Jimmy, Wallace Johnson Street in Freetown.
The total value of the alleged stolen goods includes a quantity of assorted jewelry, one Apple Macbook Laptop computer is said to be one hundred and ninety-five thousand New Leones (195,000).
There are seven accused on remand for either involving in the three related robberies or receiving stolen goods.
The case resumes on 10th July this year.
