The Sierra Leone Athletics Association SLAA are preparing for the Africa Youth Championship scheduled to take place in Ethiopia from the 3^rd to 5^th March 20114, according to the president of the association Abdul Karim Sesay.

Sesay told Politico that the SLAA are expecting ten Athletes to be part of the competition. He said because of the restrictions brought about by the Ebola outbreak, athletes have been training individually and they are doing well in their respective training sessions.

The Secretary General of Premier League club FC Kallon football Blamor Roberts has dismissed rumours that his club's players have withdrawn from the national under - 23 squad. He described the rumours as 'baseless and unfounded.'

Roberts said playing for the national team was a 'national assignment which will benefit the players, the club and the country as whole, so how can we be an obstacle to that?'

FA Cup Champions Kamboi Eagles are due to leave Freetown today 10^th February to take part in a CAF Confederation Cup match against their Algerian counterpart Amel- Saad Olympic Football Club.

The Central One Football Association has warned people using the parade grounds in Freetown for recreational activities to desist with immediate effect because of the  temporary suspension of such activities until the end of the Public Emergency in the country.

The Secretary General of COFA Philipson Cline-Cole who spoke to this press expressed that people were still in the habit of defying the Public Emergency restrictions even when the perimeter wall and the a pavilion are under construction.

The National Under 23 Coach of  Sierra Leone has been convicted on count two of trespass by a magistrate in Freetown. John Kiester and Daniel Abdel Konteh were charged with three counts of assault, trespass and public insult against the editor of Salone Times Newspaper Thomas Dixon.

In his ruling, magistrate Bangura of Pademba road court No. 5 acquitted and discharged the two accused persons on one count of assault, public insult and provocation because of "inconsistencies on the part of the prosecution."
