A High Court judge, Justice Komba Kamanda has ruled that four plaintiffs who brought a case against the Sierra Leone Football Association (SLFA) have the legal grounds to do so.

The judge made the statement as part of a ruling on Wednesday following weeks of arguments by both the legal counsels of the SLFA and a group of four football stakeholders.

This week, a new episode of the football soap opera unfolded. As usual the drama unfolded in front of a grand audience on the social media platform, Whatsapp. 

This fresh row surrounded the request by the Sierra Leone Football Association (SLFA) for East End Lions and FC Kallon to return their trophies.

The FA wrote to teams to return their trophies on Friday 18^th October and later wrote a press release on the 22^nd of October disassociating itself with the letter.

A system review report launched on Thursday shows the Freetown City Football Club (FCFC) did not account for the sale of players between 2014 and 2018. This is one among many other administrative and financial improprieties that the Anti- Corruption Commission uncovered.

FCFC is a club owned by the Freetown City Council. The affairs of the team are directly managed by a committee set up by the council.

The Public Relations Officer of the Sierra Leone Scrabble Association, Martin Wusha Conteh has told Politico that they are currently stranded in India. The team is in the Asian country to participate in the Scrabble World Championship.

Conteh said him and his five other colleagues cannot afford to pay their hotel bills or even get three square meal.

The Sierra Leone Football Association (SLFA) has said it will not challenge FIFA’s decision to sanction Leone Stars from playing in front of its home fans in their next home game. The Head of Media and Marketing at the FA, Ibrahim Kamara told Politico that they will not appeal the decision considering the risks involved in doing so.

In a letter addressed to the world football governing body, FIFA, they lamented that the FA has not communicated the date for congress among many other things.

The ‘Treasurer’ of the Western Area Football Association (WAFA), Augustine Kambo has told Politico that his suspension from the executive of regional association is illegal. Kambo was suspended by the executive last week for what WAFA described as ‘insubordination’.
