Three people who have been affected by match fixing allegations have complained the Sierra Leone Football Association (SLFA) to the Human Rights Commission of Sierra Leone (HRCS) on Tuesday.

The three people: Alhaji Nasiru Othman, Abdul Kei Nassieu and Rodney Michael used a meeting with officials of the Commission to explain how the FA had treated them regarding the allegations and the investigation.

Zappa’s shocking exit plunges Diamond Stars in crisis

Diamond Stars coach, Francis Zappa Koroma, shockingly announced his resignation as head coach on Sunday, leaving the club scrambling to replace him ahead of their match on Thursday against FC Johansen.

Assistant Coach, Aiah Lebbie, will temporarily take charge of the team for their match against FC Johansen.

In a letter addressed to the executive members of the club, Zappa said he felt betrayed by members of the executive committee who did not come to his rescue amidst a growing pressure from fans for a title push.

Sierra Leone's WAFA announces US$20k league sponsorship

The Western Area Football Association (WAFA) has announced a US$ 20,000 sponsorship deal with the Nigerian-owned FBN bank.

The sponsorship is for the running of the Division 1 league that started on Sunday.

Secretary General of the association, Benjamin Gordon said the support came as a big boost to the league.

US$ 10,000 has been disbursed by the bank to WAFA for the first half of the league and the balance will be disbursed during the second half.

Four Sierra Leoneans target Paralympics glory

Four vertically challenged athletes say they are optimistic to qualify and represent Sierra Leone in the Paralympic Games in Tokyo, Japan later this year.

Adama Kamara, Mayeali Conteh, Sheriff Abbass Koroma and Jennifer Posseh Mansaray hope to compete for the first time in categories like Discus, Javelin and Shotput.

Sierra Leone FA announces FIFA’s approval for judicial bodies

The Sierra Leone Football Association has announced on Wednesday that football world governing body, FIFA has approved the judicial bodies that were set up during the Kenema congress.

In a statement from the FA on Wednesday, they quoted FIFA’s Chief Member Association Officer, Veron Mosengo-Omba saying, “We agree that these new organs are now the ones that have the competence to investigate such matters at local level.”
