A humanitarian health care service delivery nongovernmental organisation operating in the eastern Kono district, Well Body Alliance, has donated assorted drugs and medical equipment to health authorities in Kono.
The beneficiaries were the government hospital in Koidu town and the United Methodist Church Health Centre in Jaiama town, Nimikoro chiefdom as help to combat the deadly Ebola disease in that part of the country.
The items included consumables and non-consumables and personal protective gears like hand sanitisers, gown, face mask, gloves, and apron among others.
While handing over the items, Medical Director of Well Body Alliance, Dr. Yusupha Dibba, said they received the items from one of their donor organisations, Americare, based in the United States of America as material support to the country. He said they believed that “health is life and right to all.” Similar donation was also done in Freetown through the government.
Mr. Dibba urged recipients of the donation to use it for and on behalf of the people in the district.
Receiving the items, District Pharmacist at the government hospital in Koidu, Tamba Buffa, expressed appreciation to the people of Unite States for their timely support to the fight against the deadly virus. He said the fight against Ebola could only succeed with the availability of protective gears which the organisation had donated.
