Ibrahim Sorie Sow, a student of the Institute of Public Administration and Management (IPAM), has called on the government, individuals and organisations to help sponsor his surgery on his broken hand in India.

Sow said he had an accident on the 19th September this year, when a motorbike collided with another which led to his current state.

Speaking to Politico, he said the bone specialist at the Connaught hospital, Dr. Lavally, noted the main bone inside his hand towards his elbow was broken and split after an X -rays examination conducted.

According to him, the bone specialist referred him to another hospital, Treasure Health Care Hospital by King Harman Road in Freetown. He said the doctor there told him that the condition of the hand was very critical and that the only option was to have a surgery. He said the doctor informed him that such surgery can only be done in India.

He said the total cost of the surgery is 6,500 dollars which includes flight ticket, accommodation in India and the hospital bills.

Sow expressed his pain “I am unable to neither raise nor fold my hand as a result. I have just concluded my second semester exam, which is the final year of my diploma course in procurement,” he said.

He added: “I am now always feeling a severe pain even if I take a pain pill and as a result, I cannot sleep at night.”

He therefore pleaded for support from those who can to relieve his pain. He can be reached on mobile numbers 076 483 504 / 088 973 298.

Sow said he is also a second year student of a six year program at the Ansarul Islamic College in the Eastern part of Freetown.
