The United Arab Emirates (UAE) on Monday 30th August 2021 issued a press release announcing the lifting of travel suspension on all countries which were not granted entry to the country due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
According to the joint statement by the Federal Authority for Identity and Citizenship (ICA) and the National Emergency Crisis and Disasters Management Authority, starting the 30th August 2021, applications for tourist visas would be open to travelers from all countries.
However, one should meet certain requirements before granted entry. It is compulsory for all passengers with tourist visas to take rapid PCR test at the airport, both on departure and on arrival.
The release also affirmed that the UAE will receive tourists from all countries who have received both doses of the COVID-19 vaccine approved by the World Health Organization (WHO).
It is mandatory for passengers with tourist visas to register their vaccination certificates on the ICA website. This process is to ensure that the travelers “enjoy the same benefits” as vaccinated residents in the UAE before embarking on their travel to the UAE.
This move according to the release is part of the UAE’s strategy to create a balance between public health and the activities of vital sectors, all in support of the nation’s efforts to achieve sustainable recovery and economic growth.
