Police at Lumpa, Waterloo have arrested two first cousins, 20-year-old Lansana Amara and Musa Kamara (22) on allegations of Sexual Penetration of a 15-year-old Girl, who is now two-month pregnant.
Media Officer and Spokesperson, Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) Alieu Jalloh in an interview with Politico noted that the two boys were staying together whilst the girl lived in a nearby compound. He said the girl was said to have first dated Lansana and was regularly visiting him at his residence before cousin Musa began seeing her.
He stated that it was during police interrogation that Lansana claimed he caught the pair in intimacy at home, saying he has been suspicious of them for a while. Weeks later, the parents of the girl became suspicious of the girl’s appearance.
ASP Jalloh went on to state that after the girl’s parents confronted the two cousin’s families, both men admitted having multiple unprotected sex with the minor but could not determine who is responsible for the pregnancy.
Sub-Inspector Doherty deployed at Lumpa, Waterloo Police Station where the two suspects were being held was quoted in a regular police update saying that the police "have a zero-tolerance policy on Sexual Penetration cases and will not compromise." Waterloo is viewed by police as a crime-infested settlement.
