A sea cargo Container that landed at the Freetown Port is currently with the Police at Kingtom, fueling suspicion and debate after reports on social media alleging that the said 40 feet Container could be carrying narcotic drugs or the new Leone currency, went viral.
Speaking to Politico, the Head of Police Media and Public Relations Officer Assistant Commissioner Brima Kamara told Politico that the container in question is yet to be opened and so could not comment on what could be inside.
He said the container is with them for security reasons due to the tensions created around its contents even though it is not clear what is in it.
There was no official statement yet from the Port Management as of Press time though Politico learned that a statement soon on the issue.
