Star Sports Academy partners with Antalyaspor FC

In an effort to expose Sierra Leoneans talents to the World, Star Sport Academy management has signed a partnership deal with Turkish topflight league side Antalyaspor FC.

The signing agreement was held at the Sense Hotel in Antalya, Turkey on the   31st August 2023. 

According to the Communications Officer of Star Sports Academy, Hawa Dauda, the partnership between Antalyaspor and Star Sport was facilitated by two “renowned established football agents” Bevan Dicks and Peter Smith who came to Sierra Leone in early August to witness the Detect Tournaments in Makeni and Freetown.

Star Sport Academy owner, Yankunba Tawarally, described the trip to Turkey as a fruitful journey, saying they have achieved their goal of making the long trip to Turkey. He pointed out that both parties have agreed to work together to develop and market the players. 

“We came here to sign a partnership deal and market our players, all what is related to the partnership deal was agreed on and both sides are looking forward to changing the lives of Sierra Leonean players,” he said.

Just recently, three players from the Star Sports Academy, right back Edward Bello Yilla, defensive midfielder, Senesis Janneh, and center back, Marvin Lebbie left Sierra Leone for trials in Turkey in order to start their professional careers overseas.

The three players were scouted in the Detect Tournament that was organized by the Academy’s Management early August this year where  the two Agents that visited the country on a scouting mission. 

Star Sports Academy was established in December of 2021 and started full scale operation in January 2021 to develop young talents in the country.
