Joseph Benedict Mbogba emerged as chairman of the Southern Region Football Association at the region’s elective congress on Thursday, 15th June 2023 in Bo. He was the last of the regional leaders to be elected because the congress was postponed last week.
Mbogba told journalists that he entered the race to “change the narrative around football in the south.” He added that he has allocated five hundred million old Leones aside to organize “the biggest Division One competition in October 2023.
Meanwhile long term football administrator Brima Jalloh has been elected by the North East region.
The SLFA is building up to its congress – the first since Thomas Daddy Brima took over for the controversial Isha Johansen in June 2021.
