According to officials of the newly established hospital, there is a general unit, and a homeopathic section that uses natural products from plants and animals to cure patients.

Speaking during the opening ceremony, the proprietor Dr. Symshon Yajoh said the hospital is a fruit of his eight years experience in homeopathy. He explained that his aim is for the hospital to deliver excellent, standard and satisfactory services for their patients, creating a congenial atmosphere.

Yajoh explained that the hospital will be running on a 24 hour basis providing primary and secondary health care services. The hospital is also said to provide specialised medical care, which deals in internal medicine, surgery, paediatric, gynaecology, obstetrics, and dentistry amongst many others.

He assured prospective clients of their willingness to provide the best services, explaining that they intend to provide flexible health care services for their clients. According to Yajoh, patients can register in three categories namely gold, silver and platinum. “Gold and platinum registered clients, can on request, be visited at home for medical attention by nurse or medical doctor or homeopath to do their case taking”, he disclosed.

Representatives from the Ministry of Health and Sanitation, Dr. Abu Amara said the body has a defence system that has the ability to cure itself, noting that homeopathy believes in the use of plants and other natural resources as medicine.

Speaking on sustainability, Dr. Amara explained that the resources needed in the homeopathic section would always be available, due to the use of natural products from plants and animals.

He mentioned stroke which restricts one’s movement or sexual drive. He said the hospital will handle issues of functional limitations amongst men.

He asked members of the community to take care of the hospital and make use of the opportunity, noting that if the facility is to grow, it is the community people who should support it.

Lab Technician of Bockarie Jimmy explained the importance of a lab in any hospital, and listed the different types of tests done in their hospital such as malaria, HIV, hypertension and hepatitis.

However, the technician pleaded with stakeholders in the health sector and other Sierra Leoneans to help them with Biochemistry test equipment, which according to him is used to know the state of the heart, liver and kidney.
