Sierra Leone’s Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Professor David Francis will join the Presidents of DR Congo and Zambia Felix Tsheshikedi and Hichelema Hokainde, and Liberia’s Vice President Dr. Jewel H. Taylor in receiving awards at the Pan African Leadership Symposium and Honours in Abuja next month.
Prof. Francis and the three other eminent leaders will be decorated with the United Nations SDG Humanitarian Icon of Peace by the UN Peace Governing Council for Africa.
The minister was nominated for what the Foreign Ministry says is his leadership pedigree and capacity-building impact on Ph.D. students for his tutorial on Peace and Conflict Resolution at Bradford University in the UK and for his leadership skills.
Prof. Francis is to address the event based on its theme:” The role of inclusive governance towards consolidating peaceful co-existence in Africa”.
Also two Presidential Candidates Mike Jocktane of Gabon and Nelson Noel of Haiti are the other personalities nominated.
