The Sierra Leone’s Deputy Chief of Missions in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Ambassador Mohamed Hassan Koroma has condemned all forms of violence in the Middle East and the world at large.
He made this condemnation on Thursday 11th February 2021 during a visit at the headquarters of the Islamic Military Counter Terrorism Coalition (IMCTC) in Riyadh accompanied by the Head of Chancery/ Minister Plenipotentiary, Mr. Ibrahim Vandi Kondoh.
According to report from the Press Attaché designate, Abu bakarr Sallieu Bah, Ambassador Koroma commended IMCTC for the hospitality and stressed that the formation of the Coalition in 2015 is very critical for peace and security in the Middle East and the World at large.
He described Saudi Arabia as an epitome of religion and hope for Muslims adding that housing the headquarters of the IMCTC in the Kingdom’s capital was not a mistake.
In his statement, Ibrahim Vandi Kondoh described the courtesy call on IMCTC as a familiarization meeting, adding that the diplomatic team would like to know more about the coalition and how it relates with other countries.
He added that President Bio takes the coalition very seriously as a demonstration of his commitment towards the fight against global terrorism.
“In light of this commitment, His Excellency appointed Sierra Leone’s former Defence Minister, Colonel retired, Simeon Nasiru Sheriff to serve as Permanent Representative in the Islamic Military Counter Terrorism Coalition in Kingdom of Saudi Arabia”, he noted.
He said the Mission would like to create a “Military Chancery establishment” to fully support the IMCTC.
On his part, the IMCTC Secretary General, Major General Mohammed bin Saeed Al-Moghedi commended the Deputy Ambassador and his delegation for the visit.
He described Colonel Sheriff and his delegate for Communication, Lieutenant Colonel Muctarr Tejan as professional diplomats that had been doing a great job at the IMCTC.
“They are very professional envoys. They have been doing a great job at the Headquarters since they assumed duties and are among the best delegates at the IMCTC”, he stated.
At the end of the closed door meeting, the delegation was shown a short documentary about the Coalition and was later taken on a conducted tour across the headquarters.
The IMCTC which comprises 41 Islamic countries (including Sierra Leone) is a pan-Islamic unified front in the global fight against terrorism and violent extremism across the world.
