SANUSI COVID-19 indices update (23/10/20)

Sierra Leone recorded 0.26% and 0.63% increase in COVID-19 total cases and total deaths respectively in 72 hours, from Saturday (10:00 am) to Tuesday (10:00 am).

In comparison, Sierra Leone’s increase in total cases was lower compared to Benin (2.44%), Burkina Faso (0.80%), Cape Verde (2.99%), Guinea (0.70%), Liberia (0.29%), Mali (0.62%), Senegal (0.34%), Togo (2.39%), Manor River Union or MRU (0.37%), the Economic Community of West African States or ECOWAS (0.42%), Africa (1.22%), Europe (5.24%), North America (1.52%), South America (1.25%), Asia (1.55%) and World (2.11%). However, increase in total cases in Ivory Coast (0.19%), Gambia (0.22%), Ghana (0.19%), Liberia (0.29%), Niger (0.25%) and Nigeria (0.18%) were lower compared to Sierra Leone. Guinea-Bissau recorded zero increase in total cases.

Cape Verde (3.45%) recorded the highest increase in total deaths compared to Ghana (0.65%), Senegal (0.63%), ECOWAS (0.26%), Africa (1.39%), Europe (1.57%), North America (0.03%), South America (0.97%), Asia (1.39%) and the World (1.22%). Benin, Burkina Faso, Ivory Coast, Gambia, Guinea, Guinea-Bissau, Liberia, Mali, Niger, Nigeria, Sierra Leone, Togo and MRU recorded zero increase in total deaths over the period.

Moreover, Sierra Leone’s increase in total recoveries was lower compared to Burkina Faso (1.22%), Cape Verde (3.25%), Senegal (0.79%), Togo (1.30%), Africa (1.25%), Europe (2.68%), North America (1.75%), South America (1.81%), Asia (1.83%) and the World (1.87%). Increase in recoveries in Ivory Coast (0.20%), Gambia (0.34%), Ghana (0.19%), Guinea (0.33%), Liberia (0.39%), Mali (0.43%), Niger (0.32%), MRU (0.27%) and ECOWAS (0.44%) was lower compared to Sierra Leone. Benin, Guinea-Bissau and Niger recorded zero increase in total recoveries.
