Sierra Leone recorded 7.45% and 2.69% increase in COVID-19 total cases and total deaths respectively in 72 hours, from Saturday (10:00 am) to Tuesday (10:00 am).

In comparison, Sierra Leone’s percentage increase in total cases was higher compared to Benin (2.83%), Burkina Faso (3.31%), Cape Verde (1.45%), Ivory Coast (1.94%), Gambia (2.99%), Ghana (4.89%), Guinea (0.72%), Guinea-Bissau (4.03%), Liberia (0.26%), Mali (0.46%), Niger (1.07%), Nigeria (2.52%), Senegal (3.99%), Togo (3.45%), the Manor River Union or MRU (1.89%), the Economic Community of West African States or ECOWAS (2.96%), Africa (1.33%), Europe (1.26%), North America (1.51%), South America (1.27%), Asia (0.93%) and the world (1.26%).

Benin (8.33%) recorded the highest percentage increase in total deaths compared to Burkina Faso (0.83%), Cape Verde (2.29%), Ivory Coast (2.63%), Gambia (2.34%), Ghana (6.67%), Guinea (1.22%), Mali (0.30%), Niger (1.26%), Nigeria (1.90%), Senegal (3.40%), Togo (3.95%), MRU (1.26%), ECOWAS (2.46%), Africa (1.83%), Europe (1.67%), North America (1.54%), South America (1.20%), Asia (0.89%) and the world (1.42%). Guinea-Bissau, Liberia and Sierra Leone recorded zero increase in total deaths over the period.

Moreover, Sierra Leone’s percentage increase in total recoveries was lower compared to Burkina Faso (5.95%), Ivory Coast (3.21%), Ghana (2.83%), Niger (2.81%), Nigeria (3.40%), Senegal (2.71%), Togo (4.05%) and ECOWAS (2.93%). Percentage increase in total recoveries in Benin (0.68%), Cape Verde (1.63%), Gambia (0.61%), Guinea (1.63%), Guinea-Bissau (0.25%), Liberia (0.17%), Mali (1.02%), MRU (2.56%), Africa (1.95%), Europe (2.45%), North America (2.60%), South America (1.68%), Asia (1.04%) and the world (1.92%).
