President Julius Maada Bio has told Sierra Leonean medical students in Kenya to return home. The president made the call during an official visit to the East African country.
He urged them to be ambassadors in their host country, highlighting the importance of education in transforming very facet of the Sierra Leonean society.
Dr David Jalloh, who is team lead for students in Kenya and other countries in the region, commended President Bio for his government’s support to the health sector, citing the on-going construction of a modern paediatric health village in Kerry Town, saying that the completion of such edifice would improve the health sector of the country.
He expressed gratitude to the government for providing foreign scholarships to some of their colleagues, and assured President Bio that they will be returning home, when they would have completed their studies.
He said: “On behalf of my colleagues, I want to thank you, Mr. President. May God continue to guide and protect you. Thank you very much’’.
According State House Communication Unit, the students are training in different medical areas such as Opthalmology, Paediatrics, Dermatology, and Gynaecology
