Police in the southern region have raided an Ojeh shrine and marijuana joints in Bo town. The operation was headed by the Assistant Inspector General of police in the region, Brima Kanneh.

Speaking to Politico, the police media officer, south, said they raided places they had identified as hotspots for the sale of kush and other harmful drugs in Bo. Constable Alhaji Osman Mansaray said during the raids they found exhibits at the Ojeh shrine and other places where marijuana is also sold.

He said police raided Banana Island at Shellmingo, an Ojeh Shrine at central market, Koribondo highway, and other shrines. He said some arrests were made and the operation will continue.

Alhaji Osman Mansaray said AIG Brima Kanneh has stated clearly that on his watch, dangerous drugs like kush will not take hold in Bo.

He commended the people of Bo for cooperating with the police to combat Kush and other harmful drugs. He said people are unhappy with the way kush is sold in Bo and its environs, adding as police officers, they have a responsibility to free Sierra Leone of harmful drugs.

Mansaray appealed to the people of Bo and the south, in general, to continue working with the police to end the kush menace in the country.
