The Sierra Leone Police (SLP) Wives Association is set to map out a strategic development plan that will ensure they identify challenges and opportunities bordered on the association and find ways of addressing them.
The proposed initiative according to the Police Media team was organised by the President of the SLP wives association Maltida Doris Sellu, who is also the wife of the current Police Inspector General.
This was discussed in a symposium held at the senior Police Officer's Mess, Kingtom Police Barracks on Friday 30th September 2022.
The President, who brought in two experts for the successful planning and implementation of the initiative said the “initiative is centred on the perennial problems expressed by Police Wives during our maiden tour of all the Police Barracks in the country and to help develop new modules for the vocational training institute.”
Maltida noted that the consultants were, not just to help develop the strategic plan, but to also guide the operations of the Association.
The strategic development plan is said to be centered on the identification of issues that need to be addressed, identifying the opportunities and challenges or threats, determining the strength and weaknesses, and addressing current and future demands of the association.
In a bid to map out plans for sustainable development of the association, mammy queens were drawn from the provinces and a cross-section of the Executive members of the Association were in attendance.
Among other contributors, Memunatu Conteh-Jalloh applauded the initiative by their President and entreated all and sundry to support her vision for a successful implementation of the initiatives.
She added that the organization's tools for the strategic development plan are on the right trajectory for the sustainable development of any organization.
