The Federal Road Safety officers of Nigeria (FRSC) have supported the Sierra Leone Road Safety Authority with gadgets to aid the execution of their job.
The gesture according to a report by the Authority’s Communication unit is a demonstration of the FRSC’s willingness to strengthen bilateral ties with the Sierra Leone Road Safety Authority - SLRSA, days after it Executive Director Ibrahim Sannoh had a strategic engagement with road safety authorities in Nigeria including Secretary to the Federal Government of Nigeria, the Corp Marshal of the FRSC and other senior officers of the FRSC during a weeklong working visit to the FRSC in Abuja, Nigeria.
The consignment according to the Director of Safety and Enforcement of SLRSA Augustine Kaitonji includes 100 Reflective Vests,100 Rain gears, 50 Bags of first aid kits, 50 Operational lights, and 100 modern Earth way Breathalyzer.
With future plans of sending two senior officers from the Nigeria Road Safety Academy for capacity building in the area of accident crash data collection and analysis.
Nigeria is among the few countries within the sub-region that have demonstrated full commitment to supporting Road Safety in Sierra Leone.
