A total of 314 goals have already been scored by 117 players in 183 matches in the ongoing Leone Rock Premier League.
Mohamed Bangura from this year’s debutant Bhantal Football Club and Sulaiman S. Kargbo of East End Lions have all so far emerged as the leading goal scorers with 9 goals each, followed by Ibrahim Kargbo of Wusum Stars with 7 goals.
However, Salieu Tarawallie of FC Kallon leads the top assists chart with 6, followed by Saymah Kamara of Wusum Stars, Ibrahim Turay of Bo Rangers all with 5. Kai George Williams of Bhantal, Mohamed Bangura of Ports Authority and Ernest Koroma of Bhantal have 4 assists each.
Mohamed Bangura of Bhantal FC, Alpha Kabia of SLIFA, Mohamed B. Sesay from Bai Bureh Warriors and Aziz Abala from Luawa FC have each won man of the match a times.
The surprising package of this year’s league, Bhantal FC is leading as the club with the highest man of the match with 15, followed by Luawa and Bo Rangers with 13 each.
Bhantal FC has also emerged as the club with the highest clean sheets in the league for now with 13, followed by FC Kallon and Bo Rangers with 12 each.
So far in the league, Referees have awarded 31 penalty kicks, 25 of them have been converted by the takers while 6 players have failed to score from the penalty spot.
This year’s premier league is the first to be named after an institution Leone Rock Metal Group as key sponsors.
