As the Leone Rock Premier League reaches its climax, teams are bracing up for survival against relegation while some are eyeing the coveted trophy. The competition is very intense as it is still unclear as to who exactly will lift the giant trophy come the end of the current league season. However as per the league table defending champions, Bo Rangers and former league winners FC Kallon are running a two- horse race for the champions title.
With Coach John Keister at the helm of affairs, Rangers are currently leading the league table with 47points with having played 21 games, won 14, drew 5, and lost 2. They have scored 34 goals, conceded 11, making a goal difference of 23.
FC Kallon second in the table have 45 points so far, have played 22 games, won 13, drawn 6, lost 3. Goals in favor 28, goals against 9, and a goal difference of 19.
East End Lions started the season poorly having dismissed their head coach, Charlie Wright with Raymond Hunter serving as interim coach.
The new Head Coach is from Ghana, Isaac Kofi Sarfo aka coach Castro, Lions are now in 4th position with 35 points having played the same number of games with this year’s surprise package and debutants Bhantal FC who have 41 points in 3rd position.
It is surprising to see Mighty Blackpool contending to win the league at its commencement sit at 11th position with 26 points having played 22 games.
The most tense battle lies at the relegation zone where Real Republicans are 16th with 21 points (a point below Kahunla Rangers) having played 23 games, while Bai Bureh Warriors have 20 points from 22 games. Newcomers Kholifa Stars are at the rock bottom of the table with 18 points having played 23 games.
