The last surviving member of the delegation that negotiated Sierra Leone's independence at Lancaster House in London has passed away and will be laid to rest next week, Tuesday 15 April.
According to family sources, Hector Boltman died on Friday 21 March 2014 at the Davidson Nicol Hospital, aged 86.
His civic funeral will take place on 14 April at Miatta Conference Centre followed by a laying-out at the headquarters of the All People's Congress party in Freetown.
Boltman was Secretary General of the United People's Party which he represented at the London independence talks.
