Helicopter crashes in Waterloo

 A helicopter with two crew members, one British and the other South African, has crash landed at Mashehwureh Village, a suburb some 15 miles away from Central Waterloo.

The crew members were rescued by the Local Unit Commander (LUC), Chief Superintendent of Police (CSP), Ibrahim M. Sama on the 5th August, 2023 after receiving intelligence of the crashed helicopter.

According to the two crew members, the crashed landing incident was as a result of Mechanical failure of the Rotor Blade of the helicopter. They were said to be traveling from Monrovia to Lungi Airport, then to Banjul.

The media officer and spokesperson of the Waterloo Police Division, Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) Alieu Jalloh confirmed that no casualties were reported from the crash site. He added that the police couldn't identify any strange luggage of police interest, but just the personal luggage of the crew.
