The Fulla Tribal Administration, Western Area has demanded for an apology from the Minister of Lands and Country Planning, Dr. Denis Sandy for publicly accusing their Youth leader, Chernor Issa Jalloh of attempting to harm him using black magic.
In a video on social media last week, Dr Sandy alleges that Mr. Jalloh went to his ministry to attack him with some black magic in a bid to kill him.
“My people, this is the Fulla Chief that has come to my office today to target me with some things but whatever he brought today, he has been arrested by Jesus Christ” the minister says in the video.
He continues: “I’m telling people that this office, this ministry, people should not try me. As far as I’m concerned, he came to try me but those who can see from the same lens as him are the ones who apprehended him. From here I’m calling the relevant authorities to hand him over to them,”
In a press release, the Fulla Tribal Administration has contested the allegation, whiles condemning the minister’s behavior.
“The administration strongly condemned such acts with the highest degree as an accused person is innocent until proven guilty in a competent court of law and also the administration presumed this action by the Minister as a planned conspiracy to tarnish and defame the individuality and reputation of Chernor Issa Jalloh,” the statement reads in apart.
It goes on: “The administration is calling on the Minister of Lands, Dr. Sandy and all those involved to apologize to Mr. Chernor Issa Jalloh for accusing him publicly without proven guilty by a competent court of Law”.
Politico happened to have been at the scene when the scuffle started. Jalloh was seen in an exchange with some youths who were dressed in an SLPP party color. They accused him of bringing juju to the place, which he vehemently denied.
The issue was later reported to the security personnel present alleging that Jalloh was throwing some juju on the floor in the ministry’s lobby.
Thereafter, the man was interrogated by the security detail but the party youths present kept insisting that he had thrown away a white envelope that he was carrying.
The security officer picked up a white paper and opened it. So they also confirmed that it had something to do with witchcraft.
Jalloh was then escorted to the Minister’s office for interrogation during which the video was shot and circulated.
Politico understands that Jalloh was later taken to the office of the Vice President, Dr. Mohamed Juldeh Jalloh.
Abdulai Barrie the Administrative Secretary for the Fulla Tribal Chieftaincy Organization, an umbrella for the Fula Youth Organizations, told Politico that they would decide on their next line of decision against Sandy if he did not apologize.
“We published the press statement on Saturday evening and he is yet to apologize and if he doesn’t apologize by the undisclosed time that we have set, we will take another action against him. But we will decide that after meeting with our chiefs and arriving at a decision,” he said.
