In a bid to promote good governance through People Power Approaches FoRUT continues to support Civil Society Organisations (CSOs) to Effectively Mobilize the People to Promote Good Governance in Sierra Leone.
20 CSOs in the North-Western District of Karene were on the 23rd and 24th of November this year trained on People Power Approaches, and also on the National Anti-Corruption Instruments including the Anti-Corruption Act of 2008 Amended in 2019 and the National Anti-Corruption Strategy.
The two-day training was facilitated alongside officials of the Anti-Corruption Commission.
"I now understand that the most effective means to demand accountability and right issues is through nonviolent actions. I will join my compatriots to popularize the Non Violent Approaches in demanding for rights and accountability issues in my district," says Mariama Kamara, a Civil Society Activist.
