A 47-year-old Father in Pujehun district has allegedly impregnated his 14-year-old daughter. The full identity of the suspect is yet to be released.
The matter was reported to the Line Manager at the Family Support Unit (FSU) Pujehun Police Division, Detective Police Inspector Ibrahim Samura by a sister of the suspect. Inspector Samura said the incest matter was reported to them sometime in September.
Inspector Samura said that during their investigation, the daughter told them that it was her father that first had sex with her and impregnated her in the process.
The Police admitted the suspect was on the run initially after the matter was reported to them but that they have, however, apprehended him. He said the father is now under their custody and that investigations are ongoing.
Inspector Samura said a medical examination of the child confirmed she was five months pregnant. He disclosed that the matter is currently with the Principal State Council for further advice.
