It has come to our attention that a certain individual calling themselves POLITICO is writing on social media – notably on WhatsApp – and copyrighting as such. We have seen a few of their writings.
We wish to state it categorically that Politico Newspaper has nothing whatsoever to do with the said individual or individuals.
We believe this misunderstanding created by that person(s) led to a magistrate making apparently unfavourable reference to Politico Newspaper in open court this week. We wish to refer anyone to our publications in print and online (www.politicosl.com) which espouse and exhibit the highest standards of journalism anywhere.
We are a nonaligned publication that is here to ensure that the bigotry that has characterised politics in our country since independence is substantially altered, if not brought down completely.
We belong to no political party even if we hold liberal political views. We are secular, non-tribal and believe in the supremacy of every Sierra Leonean at home and abroad.
It is by no mistake that almost every day we receive a deluge of complaints and concerns from our compatriots around the world from all shades of opinion, asking us to champion one cause or another.
Guest writers of all political persuasions send their articles EXCLUSIVELY to us for publication. So whoever jumps on the apparent misunderstanding or mistake by the magistrate to peddle lies and false impression about Politico Newspaper is like water off a duck’s back because the facts and other evidence are there for all to see.
