In order to be in line with today's data-driven society,a Social Policy Advocacy group, Campaign for Human Rights and Development International (CHARDI), has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with an information Analysis and management firm, Sanusi Research and Consulting.
The event which took place in Freetown on the 8th of October 2021, marks the beginning of a relationship that will see CHRDI enhancing its data analysis capabilities and aspirations.
Speaking at the ceremony, the Chief Executive, Abdul Fatoma said “We are at the forefront and center of this fight to improve our health and well-being so we can help citizens achieve what is best for their lives,” he said.
The role of data being very important to facilitate evidence based advocacy, that amplifies community people's voices and helps them spread messages about the issues that are most important to them. Groups like CHRDI cannot be left behind in advancing evidence based advocacies to policy and decision makers.
In his statement, Abu Bakarr Jalloh, the CEO of Sanusi Research & Consulting also noted the importance of data in assessing the development trajectory of a country.
"Data can provide us with insights into whether Sierra Leone is on track to protect citizens’ fundamental rights, their rights to life and liberty, freedom of opinion and expression, and rights to work, education, access to information, and to participate in decisions affecting their lives,” he said.
Sanusi Research & Consulting is a Sierra Leone-based limited liability corporation that works with partners and stakeholders in public, private, civil society and media sectors investigating economic and social trends that impede or advance sustainable economic growth and development in Sierra Leone. According to the CEO, this purpose-driven initiative is committed to the culture of corporate social responsibility with a view to establishing an enabling environment for capacity building.
