Thousands of supporters of Bo Rangers Football Club were in a celebratory mood inside the ultra-modern Southern Arena in Bo on Sunday evening well before the kick-off in the match between their club and Lamboi FC.
They were justified in their action as it was a mere formality to bring the curtains down in a successful league campaign-they had already won the trophy.
But the Rangers players took the game professionally and ruthlessly too-walloping their guests by 5 goals to one. It was a dominant performance that encapsulates the no nonsense approach of this team in the last three seasons. It was Rangers’ third successive premier league title.
The phenomenal figure behind the success story of Bo Rangers is no doubt their innovative Chairmn Babadi Kamara who watching the scenes of joy, dancing and singing will no doubt feel gratified that his resources , visionary attributes and persistence brought about belief and eventually triumph in the end.
He and his team are now reaping the rewards and justifiably so. Babadi took Rangers from nowhere to an enviable pedestal that has captured the imagination of the nation.
His boys, coach, technical team and supporters have not let him down. They have all given their all to bring glory to a team which some years ago was not an inviting proposition.
No team has got a thoroughly-managed football project in place as Bo Rangers. With the way things are, Bo Rangers will dominate Salone football for some time to come.
As the players received the trophy from Sports Minister Augusta Teima Koroma, inside their home turf, the wild scenes of jubilation were quite understandable- apart from the structures in place, they do have a winning mentality that have harnessed over the years.
Their pre-occupation now must be, preparing for the continental club champions competition. And they have to be well prepared this time to face some of Africa’s finest clubs. Congratulations to Bo Rangers and their very supportive Chairman Babadi!
