Police in Bo have stepped up raids against criminals in the city, arresting some men, seizing arms, ammunitions and drugs.
According to the Regional Police Commander South, AIG Aiah Edward Samadia, they have intensified security patrols in the Bo in order to ensure the safety and security of residents in the city and its environs. He stated that the two divisions there have embarked on raids to clamp down on both common and hardcore criminals.
The Police have by Wednesday 20th October 2021 arrested five men believed to be hardcore criminals. Amongst those arrested was a known drug dealer called Dedi Maxwell, who Police swooped on their location at McRobert Street. Abu Bakarr Marrah, Alie Gbla, Prince Tawa and Mohamed Yarjah were the others arrested. According to the Police the five were found with some quantities of marijuana, Kush, one pistol and 1 double barreled shot gun.
The suspects and the exhibits are in police custody while the investigation is in progress at the Transnational Organized Crime Unit, South.
In another area in Mattru Road in Bo, the Police based on intelligence arrested Mohamed Kanu a local shot gun manufacturer. The Police found in his possession, seven shot guns and a pistol.
AIG Samadia has assured the public of their determination as law enforcement personnel to pursue all criminals in Bo and the nearby areas, in order to ensure that lives and properties are protected, and for peace and tranquility to be maintained in that part of the country.
