Bo Rangers Football Club new Coach Solomon Jose Cortes, from Sweden, is relishing the task before him, following his recent appointment. Cortes expressed his satisfaction at the project the club was trying to build on , which he viewed as quite a challenge for him but not insourmoutable.
The coach has been given a one year contract, that could be extended.
He said he would work towards Bo Rangers carving an identity.
The Swede said he was impressed with the plans put forward by the club's management hinging on success and achieving commanding presence at the top of the league table.
Having worked in neighbouring Guinea for some four years, Cortes is aided at his new job by Guinean Allan Sekou Kamara as goalkeeper coach and another backroom staff in Alhaji Foray who previously served as Head Coach for Kamboi Eagles.
The coach has however expressed concern over the terrible condition of the football pitches in the country , which he said cannot give players the freedom to perform well.
Bo Rangers settled for a goaless draw against Mighty Blackpool at the Siaka Stevens Stadium in Freetown on Friday 24 September 2021, Cortes' second match in charge since he was appointed coach and introduced to the Media on 6 September this year. His first match was a win against East End Tigers in Bo.
Rangers have however lost the top position to East End Lions who last Wednesday defeated Kamboi Eagles 2-1.
Rangers have attracted attention in recent times with the construction of an ultra- modern multi-purpose club house in Bo. More infrastructure projects were said to be underway ,all part of an ambitious plan by the club's financier Babadi Kamara to make Rangers the most resourced team ever in Sierra Leone's football history.
They boast of talented players including the mercurial Musa Noah Kamara alias Musa Tombo.
