Coach Victoria Conteh registered another win on Wednesday when her Eastern Tigers side demolished Mighty Blackpool by 3-0 score line.
The win has now taken Tigers top of the table for the first time this season. Conteh who became the first woman to take charge of a premier league side in Sierra Leone defeated league leaders Kamboi Eagles last weekend.
After Wednesday’s game, she praised the “fighting spirit” of his team.
“Today was a big match for us. The game was tense, but I believed in the boys and they came through.”
Adding, “I always have confidence in my boys. The boys are always prepared. They are always up for fireworks.”
Mighty Blackpool’s poor season continues. Twenty-four hours before the match they were hit by the suspension of two of their players and the coach for misconduct during another match early in the season.
East End Tigers will now prepare to face East End Lions over the weekend, a match Conteh said she is ready for.
“John Keister is a brother and a mentor, but I will beat his team,” she said.
