Production Manager and Presenter at the Freetown-based Culture Radio, Obai Wurie has died. Aged 56; according to an announcement by his employers.
The host of the popular and controversial programme, Shekpendeh, is survived by his wife Olivette Wurie, his children Dawsy, Alia, Kade and Bakarr and his mother Mrs. Maria Sillah.
No funeral arrangements have yet been announced.
An announcement from Culture Radio says "We firmly believe that he was killed by a witch gun attack and we firmly believe that he was targeted because of his work."
The announcement says his death came three weeks after the death of Wilreen John aka Aku Bod, who used to read listeners text messages. The programme has a no-holds-barred approach to covering societal ills especially in public offices.
