Sierra Leonean rapper Amara Denis Turay aka Kao Denero is set to tie the knot on Friday May 25 with his long time partner Mariama Kamara at the Qathaffi Mosque in the east of Freetown. The bride is a US-based Sierra Leonean and the mother is the rapper’s daughter. Not much is known about the lucky woman other than being “a shy, quiet and caring mother” as fans have described her. News of the marriage started filtering through after the rapper released a hit song titled “Anything”. In that song, he explains his “unending love” for his woman and how he would take her to the mosque/alter. The rapper’s subsequent lyrics like “King and queen crown don fit we” also signalled an imminent tying of the knot. The wedding was to have been done quietly, but considering the huge fan base of Kao, fans peddled the information even before official invites started going out. The wedding notwithstanding the rapper over the weekend held gigs in Lunsar and at the Transit Night Club in Lungi. He had also held successful concerts in Bo immediately preceding his April 6 concert at the National Stadium which was banned by the authorities on grounds of crowd trouble. It was rescheduled for 4 May and two days later, he posted on his fiancées Facebook wall “Miss U guys greatly but as U know ah get for go fenam me yone way lol. Don't mind those idlers lae dem continue for stuck U, nothing but cartoon characters lol. See u soon boo.” Some of his Black Leo fans that have got wind of this development have told Politico that they plan to grace the wedding even if as gatecrashers. It is not known why the Qathaffi Mosque was chosen as venue for the wedding, but sources close to the rapper have intimated Politico that possible reason could be its size in anticipation of a huge crowd of supporters. The rapper also plans a gig at the Attouga Mini Stadium on May 31.
